The Crown alleged that on February 14, at approximately 9:20 p.m., the accused man and the now deceased got into an altercation, which later resulted in a mortal end.
It is said that the deceased was at a party being held for the brother of the accused man. It is said that an altercation developed between Fowling and the deceased, and Fowling allegedly pulled a ratchet knife, which he used to stab the deceased. After an alarm was made, the deceased was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), where he was pronounced dead.
Fowling allegedly fled the scene thereafter.
According to reports, Fowling turned himself into the police two days after on February 16, informing on-duty officers of what had happened on the night in question. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
In court, Fowling was granted conditional bail in the sum of $300,000 with surety by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey. He is to report to the Hunt's Bay Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
