Bus overturns in Red Hills
Several passengers were injured when a minibus they were travelling in overturned at the foot of Red Hills in St Andrew last Monday.
The passengers were travelling in a Toyota Hiace minibus from Rock Hall in St Andrew to Chancery Street, Kingston 19, when the driver failed to negotiate a corner.
The bus subsequently overturned at the side of the road.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. in the vicinity of a National Water Commission pump in the area, resulting in traffic pile-up on the busy thoroughfare.
The crash did not appear to cause any damage to property nearby.
When THE STAR arrived on the scene at noon, the police were not yet on the scene.
Passengers were observed being pulled out of the wrecked vehicle, while several others writhed in pain.
No serious injuries were reported.
It remains unclear what caused the crash.
