A man who the police believe is able to provide information regarding the fatal shooting of Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) driver, Albert Barnes, last week was taken into custody on Monday morning.

He was detained during an operation in Bedward Crescent, August Town, by the St Andrew Central police.

An illegal gun was also seized during the operation.

The prime suspect for the killing, who is being questioned, was taken into custody on New Year's Day.

He was turned in by his mother in Yallahs, St Thomas.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner Ealan Powell, said he will be charged.

Fifty-one-year-old Barnes, of 3 East, Greater Portmore, St Catherine, was shot dead on December 30, when gunmen attempted to rob the bus along Bedward Crescent, August Town.
