Dad charged for beating daughter
A father who is accused of beating his daughter for intervening in argument between him and his estranged wife, had his bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court.
The father pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm.
According to reports, on December 3, the accused slapped the complainant on her feet and on her back with a leather belt.
The complainant's mother told the court that the accused who is ordered by law not to see her, had been using the child as an excuse to visit her home.

An argument reportedly took place between the two parents and the complainant got involvement.
"She told him not to talk to me like that and that upset him," said the mother who has been separated from the accused for more than a year.
The accused reportedly waited for the complainant the following day at the bus stop and used a leather belt to hit her.
Resident Magistrate Vaughn Smith warned the accused to stay away from his estranged wife.
"If any complaints are made, then the bail will be taken away," said RM Smith.
