Man dies after being hit by truck

Detectives from the Half-Way Tree Police Station are now investigating the circumstances surrounding yesterday's accident, which caused the death of a man along a section of the Margaret Villa Road in St Andrew.

The deceased man has been identified as 67-year-old Lindon Stephens of Cheltenham Drive, Kingston 10.

According to reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), on February 1 at approximately 8:10 a.m., it is said that Stephens was attempting to cross the roadway when he was hit by a Jonckheere motor truck.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It remains unclear if the driver of the truck will face charges as a result of the incident.

Investigations continue.
