Jcan on human trafficking charge in Bostswana

A Jamaican accused of being linked to an international human trafficking ring was granted bail when he appeared before the Village Magistrate Court in the Republic of Botswana in southern Africa.

According to www.mmegi.bw, 43-year-old Imanu Samoki Cunningham, who was granted conditional bail recently, has been linked to an international human trafficking syndicate

The accused man was arrested at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport on November 15, last year.

Cunningham, who is a businessman married to a Botswanan, was arrested when he went to fetch one of the victims believed to be a 27-year-old man from Ethiopia, who had just arrived.

He was also ordered to surrender his travel documents and report to the police once a week. Additionally, he is ordered not to interfere with police investigations or witnesses, and not to be involved in any similar crime. He is expected to attend all subsequent court days.
