Four persons homeless after MoBay fire

A two-story concrete and wood structure house was damaged by fire yesterday morning at 8 Albion Lane in Montego Bay.

According to district officer Rayon Gordon, firefighters got a call at 11:30 a.m. and arrived on the scene nine minutes later. However, when the two units and 13 firefighters arrived at the location, the house was already engulfed in flames.

Four persons, including an elderly woman, are now homeless as a result of the fire. Damages have been estimated at $1.5 million. Councillor for the area, Suzette Brown, who visited the scene, has promised to help the afftected residents by as early as next week.
