Four persons shot in Westmoreland last night

Four persons are now hospitalised after being shot last night in Hartford district, Westmoreland.

Police reports are that around 7:30 p.m., persons were at a bar in the community when two persons rode up on a motorcycle and opened gunfire on the patrons.

After gunshots ceased, patrons realised four persons were injured by gunshots. All four were rushed to the hospital immediately.

The police were later alerted to the incident by members of the community.

Superintendent David White said the police suspect that the shooting was a case of reprisal for a recent incident.

"It was a case of indiscriminate shooting because they opened fire on all the patrons," said White.
