Bethel Town residents beg for ZOSO
Frightened by an influx of migrant lottery scammers, constant gunshots, and the recent murder of bar operator and his bartender-spouse, residents of Bethel Town in Westmoreland want a zone of special operations to be established in their community.
"We are under siege. We have had so many murders since the start of the year," a frightened resident told WESTERN STAR. "If every time we hear a shot someone was killed, Bethel Town would have over 100 murders in the past few months."
While not absolving some misguided members of the community from some of the blame, the resident said that the scammers and gangsters, who are fleeing the state of public emergency in St James, are the main culprits.
"Because Bethel Town is close to St James and is somewhat isolated, these migrating criminals find it to be a comfortable place to operate from," said another resident. "They exploit the high level of unemployment to introduce the young people to scamming, and everybody knows that scamming and guns go together."
To compound the situation, with Bethel Town being a ganja-producing area, the young ganja farmers have reportedly been arming themselves to protect their turf and livelihood from the intruders.
