District constable murders elderly then commits suicide

District Constable Toyan 'T-jay' Ormbsy shot and killed a 62-year-old woman and then turned the gun on himself yesterday.

The police reported that loud explosions were heard on the compound of the Islington Police Station in St Mary about 1:40 p.m. yesterday. When checks were made, the bodies of 25-year-old Ormbsy and Dawnette Maxwell, of Galina, St Mary, were found on the ground.

Both were rushed to hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) and the Bureau of Special Investigations are probing the shooting.
