Aspiring writer wants publisher for his book

April 09, 2019

Roger Reid has always had a passion for writing. At one point in his life, he even wanted to be a journalist, but his life did not go in the direction he wanted it to. He said that after leaving high school, he did some evening classes and even got a certificate in electrical engineering from the H eart Trust/NTA. Even though he has been doing electrical work for the past 15 years, he said that he has written numerous pieces and hopes one of them will be adapted into a movie.

"I was always a writer. Writing has always been in me, and it is my first love," he said.

Reid told THE STAR he wants to get his book, He Snitched On The Jamaican, published. However, he said that he has been experiencing difficulty. He is, therefore, appealing to publishers to reach out to him.

"The book is about a man who went overseas and ended up in drugs, which was not his real intention. He got used because it was his first experience in drugs, and his friends sold him out and he got arrested. When he was released, he got an opportunity and turned his life around," he said.

Not wanting to give too much away, Reid said that the book is a good read, and he is very excited to get people to read his semi-fictional book. The 45-year-old said that he hopes that once it is finally published, people can enjoy reading it as much as he enjoyed the writing process.

"This book is so good. I know this is what I am supposed to do. I know that after people get to read this, publishers and even movie directors would want to get in on this," he said.

Persons wishing to help Reid achieve his dream can contact him via phone at 876-465-8599 or email him at chinken846@gmail.com.
