Missing teen reunited with family

The parents of 14-year-old Gaynstead High School student Aliyah Jennings are breathing a sigh of relief after being reunited with their daughter on Tuesday.

According to her father, Andre Jennings, his daughter was picked up in St Catherine after the parents of one of her friends contacted them.

"One of her friend's mother called my babymother to say that Aliyah had turned up at her home yesterday, and we should come for her. She wasn't the person who she had ran away to, but I am really grateful that the parent called to inform us. We informed the police and went to pick her up," he said.

Andre Jennings said that the police are continuing their investigations to find out where Aliyah was staying in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

"I am really glad she is home. We are still trying to find out why she ran away and was being this rebellious. We will be taking her to the doctor to ensure that her health is OK. One thing I know for sure is that I will never give up on any of my children, and I will go the extra mile to make sure that she gets the counselling that she may need," he said.
