Shante Skyers has been missing since Thursday, April 11.

"Mi want help! Mi waah find mi likkle girl. It a touch night again, and mi still nuh find me baby. Unno please help me! Please, unno send a search team come help me," Fabian Skyers wailed.
His 8-year-old daughter, Shante Skyers,  who went missing last Thursday.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JDF), Shante left home for school about 7:00 a.m. wearing a navy-blue tunic, a white blouse and black shoes. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Young Shante lives in Sterling Castle Heights, St Andrew, with her father, Fabian, and grandmother.

Fabian said that community members have been combing the bushes in the west rural St Andrew constituency, looking for signs of his daughter. However, he said that the State has been missing in action as neither the security forces nor the fire services are yet to join the search party.

"Government, unno please send a helicopter or even a trained dog to sniff. We a do everything from Thursday night and all now mi can't find me baby," Fabian said.

The father wore a burdensome look of frustration as he and dozens of persons from the community continued the search on Monday. The distraught father was among the majority who expressed their disappointment in the JCF for dragging their feet in the investigation surrounding the disappearance of the youngster. So angry were some of the residents that they used pieces of debris to block sections along Swain Spring Road and Burnside Valley.

"We want justice. We out here a do everything we can do fi find the little girl, and is like them a wait on us to find a body before them move. We are willing to do whatever we can to find her, but we alone can't do it. Right now, we clueless as to who may have her because if we know a who, a dead body dem a come pick up," a woman shouted.
