While people in the Corporate Area have been dying to see an overcast sky, which would provide some relief from the heat that has been tormenting them for weeks, it's been raining hail in St Elizabeth.

Antonio McClean, a security guard who works in a bank in Santa Cruz, told THE CENTRAL STAR that it has been raining for the past three days, and yesterday they got a surprise.

"It fall three days straight, Sunday it fall Maggoty side, and two days now in Santa Cruz. Heavy, heavy rain a fall. The amount a water a run pan the road, hail a fall, bout half inch in size. The rain fall fi bout an hour, but about two minutes outta hail we get," he said

He noted that it only started raining in the afternoon on all three days.

But the relief that the rain brought to the people in Santa Cruz was short-lived, because as soon as it eases up, the heat returns.

"When it done fall, the heat come up back terrible, extreme. When it started yesterday (Monday), the sun was out when it come down, and when it finished the sun come back out extreme," he said.
