Traffic cop hit by motorist

The St Catherine South police have launched a search for a motorist who hit a policewoman in the division yesterday.

Reports are that about 7:45 a.m., the policewoman, who is attached to the division's traffic department, was on traffic enforcement duties at the Bayside roundabout in Portmore, when she reportedly signalled the driver of a white motor car to stop.

The driver disobeyed and sped off, hitting the cop in the process. The driver eluded the police. The policewoman was treated at hospital and released.
