Bar operator killed

The St Catherine police were kept busy on Wednesday after a bar operator was fatally shot in Bog Walk, St Catherine.

Dead is Fabian Grant, otherwise called 'Flatbush' and 'Starboy', of Pineapple Lane, Big Walk, in the parish.

Police reports are that about 4:10 p.m., the businessman was walking along at the entrance of Pineapple Lane when he was pounced upon by an unknown number of assailants and shot repeatedly.

He ran into Pineapple Lane where he collapsed. He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

As news of his death circulated throughout the community, persons expressed shock with businesses drawing their shutters down for the day.

Inspector Carl Malcolm of the Bog Walk police said investigations are under way.

"The police are still working to solve the matter at hand. No motive has been established but we continue to probe the matter," Malcolm said.
