Chef arrested for Boxing Day stabbing death
Twenty-nine-year-old Ricardo Rhomes, a chef of Rose Heights, St James, has been charged with murder following an incident in his community on Boxing Day.
Rhomes is charged with the murder of 55-year-old Bently Vaughns, a mason of Rose Heights. Reports from the Montego Bay police are that about 2 a.m., Rhomes had an altercation with a woman when Vaughns intervened. A dispute developed between the men when Rhomes pulled a knife and stabbed Vaughns on his hand. It is alleged that Vaughns was assisted inside his home when Rhomes kicked off the door and attacked him with the knife. Vaughns was stabbed several times in the left side of his chest.
The police were summoned, and Vaughns was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Rhomes was taken into custody, where he was charged after an interview in the presence of his attorney. A court date for him is being finalised.
