Schizophrenic man who allegedly murdered sister gets court date
A St Catherine man who allegedly bludgeoned his sister to death last July, is to stand trial for murder in the St Catherine Circuit Court on April 4.
The decision was handed down when the accused, 42-year-old Jason-Ray Green, appeared before the parish court on Monday. The judge explained the prima facie case had been made out for the matter to be transferred.
While Green had no comments to make, his attorney, Steven Jackson, acknowledged the decision.
It is alleged that about 10:30 p.m. on July 19, 2023, Green used a blunt object to bludgeoned his sister, 62-year-old Nicola O'Gilvie, to death.
The incident occurred at the deceased's premises in Water Meadows, where Green lives. O'Gilvie's lifeless body was discovered by a relative the following morning.
The police was called, and following an investigation, Green, who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia in 2009, was arrested and subsequently charged with murder.
