Two killed by knifeman in Trelawny
A Trelawny man who allegedly used a knife to kill two men in separate incidents in one night has been charged with murder.
The accused man is Solomon Minto, 24, labourer of Wakefield Drive, Falmouth in Trelawny. The Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force reports that about 9 p.m., last Wednesday, 44-year-old Noel Nelson, of Water Lane in the parish, was seen lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds to his body. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Approximately two hours after the first incident, the police were summoned to the community of Water Square where two men were said to be in an altercation. One of the men, identified as Minto, allegedly used a knife to inflict several wounds on 50-year-old Joel Curry, landscaper of Martha Brae, Falmouth.
Curry was rushed to the hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. He died the next day.
Minto was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody by the lawmen, and charged following an interview.
