ElectionWatch: Daughter joins father on political journey
In an interesting display of familial unity and political ambition, the stage was set today for the father-daughter duo of Carlos and Shannon King to step into the realm of electoral politics together.
Boasting a longstanding political career dating back to 1989, Carlos' nomination for the Whitfield Town Division represents not just a personal endeavour, but a continuation of a legacy deeply entrenched in community service and advocacy.
"I am doing my best to gain better support than I have over the years, and show everyone I am here to help everyone. I am working with all sides...So I am just doing my best to show that," he said.
Joining her father at the start of a new journey, Shannon King emerges as a fresh face in the political landscape, brimming with enthusiasm and unwavering confidence as she seeks the candidacy for the Payneland division.
"Honestly, me kinda a follow me father footsteps. I have couple mentors and people that I know that have been there for me throughout my childhood. So I am looking forward to it," Shannon said.
Despite the historical dominance of the PNP in the division, Shannon's optimism remains unyielding, fuelled by a steadfast belief in their shared vision for positive change and progress.
"A young people time now," she exclaimed.
