Rena and Sighta plan romantic evening on the beach

Three weeks after exchanging wedding vows on a beach in St Thomas, senior citizens Ephraim and Rena Manderson are set to return to the very spot for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner.

Still basking in wedding Bliss, Rena, 85, said while they do not have the cash to buy each other a gift, they are rich in love.

"We going to be at the beach where we get married for dinner and a couple's party. Mi nuh sure if mi a guh able to buy mi husband a gift because nuh money nuh deh, but we a guh merry up and kiss up on the day, suh the gift nuh really necessary. We a guh enjoy we self," she said.

The senior citizens tied the knot at a lavish ceremony at a beach in Prospect, located in the eastern section of St Thomas. The couple met two years ago, via social media influencer Noel Young's T Nation Facebook page. Young uses his page for charity purposes and often hosted an entertainment package where the senior citizens are featured.

Ephriam, 72, who also answers to the name 'Sighta', told THE STAR that although they were courting last Valentine's Day, he had no idea that Rena would become his wife.

"Last year Valentine's Day mi never did a think bout marriage because mi never tink mi did ready. Memba say sheep whe nuh have wool nuh get fi go barber, enuh, suh mi have to wait until mi get mi wool and den we do the right ting. Mi a enjoy married life and mi happy," Ephraim said.

Meanwhile, Rena said their love story has been an inspiration to many persons, including T Nation's boss Noel Young, who recently proposed to his girlfriend, Charlene Gayle. Rena said she was not surprised by the marriage proposal as Gayle was the one who caught the bouquet at their wedding.
