St Catherine man held with firearm in Red Hills

A man, who is reportedly from Above Rocks in St Catherine, was taken into police custody after he was held with an illegal firearm in Red Hills, St Andrew on Wednesday.

According to the Red Hills police, a joint police/ military operation was conducted in Rock Hall Square in Red Hills, when a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.

He was accosted and searched, during which one Taurus pistol with a magazine affixed, containing 11 rounds of ammunition was seized by the team.

The suspect's identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
