51-y-o held with ammo at airport charged

The police have charged 51-year-old Charlie Michael Goodwin, an entrepreneur from Marlie Mount in St Catherine, after he was held with several rounds of ammunition at the Norman Manley Airport in Kingston. 

It is alleged that about 11:00 p.m. on February  18, the accused entered the airport and during a search of his luggage several rounds of ammunition was discovered.

The Old Harbour police was contacted and an investigation launched, which resulted in a search been conducted at a house occupied by Goodwin.

A search of the premises lead to the seizure of a Sig Sauer pistol along with 110 rounds of ammunition. The items were found in a piece of furniture inside the dwelling.

As a result an investigation, Goodwin been formally charged with possession of prohibited weapon.

A court date is being fixed for his appearance.
