Polls closed in Local Government Elections

The polls have now closed in the 2024 Local Government Elections.

Polls closed at 5 p.m.

The Electoral Commission of Jamaica is reporting that the voter turnout at 3 p.m. was 22.93 percent.

In 2016, the turnout for the comparative period was 21.62 per cent.

Just over two million persons are eligible to vote.

A total of 499 candidates were nominated.
