Man in hot water over nudes

Prosecutors in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court have been told to reassess the charges brought against a Corporate Area man, who was found in possession of a stolen cell phone that was filled with nude pictures and videos.

John Dixon, who is unrepresented, has been charged with malicious communication and unlawful possession of property. The prosecutors said he was found in possession of a cell phone that was reported stolen in December 2023.

The court heard that the phone was searched, and lewd photos of the complainant were found. However, Dixon could not account for how he came into possession of the cell phone.

Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque instructed the prosecutors to assess the charges laid against Dixon and to make amendments to the indictment, if it is necessary.

Dixon was remanded in custody until April 3, when his matter is set for mention.
