The police have confirmed Anthoneil McNeil, the man accused of Saturday's fatal shooting of 16-year-old Tara Alecia Dennis, has been taken into police custody.

The Westmoreland police say he turned himself in on Sunday.

McNeil, who is reported to be Dennis' ex-boyfriend, was named as the prime suspect in the shooting that lead to the teen's death and the injuring of 38-year-old Derron Stewart

According to the commanding officer for the Negril Police Division, Deputy Superintendent, Shaunjaye Mitchell, the accused will be questioned and charged later today.

The police say that both Dennis and Stewart were sitting on the teenager's veranda at approximately 2:15 a.m. when they were attacked by McNeil. It is said that the teenager has just returned home from work.

The shooting incident is believed to have stemmed from a love triangle.
