Portland police probe armed robbery at variety store

The Port Antonio police have launched an investigation into the brazen armed robbery of an variety store in Portland, which has left shoppers on edge. 

The STAR understands the incident took place at a Mint Mobile store in St George in Port Antonio shortly after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. 

According to the police, the robbery took place during the peak hours when the shopping village was flooded by students and shoppers. They appeared to be shaken-up following the incident. 

According to the police, three men entered, two of which were armed, entered the village about 3:10 p.m. Two walking into the store, while the other took up position on the outside.

It is further reported that the men that were inside the store pulled handguns, and demand money from the attendant. There demands were met and shortly after, they left the store and the shopping village with their accomplice.

The Mint Mobile store sells a variety of items including cell phones, jewellery, perfumes, and more.
