March 06, 2024

A St James man was left baffled recently after he received a call to inform him that his car was seen speeding along the Queens Drive main road in the parish while he was overseas.

According to the Montego Bay police, the man securely locked up his home and motor vehicle and departed the island on Tuesday, February 8, about 3:15 p.m.

It is further reported that sometime after he left, 37-year-old Richard Watson allegedly broke into the man's home and stole several items, including the man's car.

The complainant was made aware of the situation on February 19, after someone informed him via a phone call that someone was driving his motor vehicle around St James.

The police were alerted and Watson was accosted and taken into custody.

Watson was charged with house-breaking and larceny on Saturday, March 02. His court date is being finalised.
