Man charged in producer’s murder

A man has been charged with murder in relation to the shooting death of a 26-year-old music producer on Constant Spring Road, St Andrew, on February 24.

Karmarley Coburn, 30, of Premix Road in Papine, St Andrew, has also been charged with shooting with intent and wounding with intent. Reports from the Constant Spring police are that about 2:20 a.m., Keshawen Young of Hope Avenue, Mandeville, Manchester, was attending a party. It is reported that upon parking his motor car, two armed men approached him and opened gunfire, hitting him and another man. The gunmen then reportedly escaped in a Honda Stream motor car. A police team responded to reports of explosions heard and assisted the injured persons to the hospital, where Young was pronounced dead and the other man treated.

Subsequent to an investigation, the accused was arrested and charged on Wednesday, following an interview and a caution statement in the presence of his attorney.
