24-y-o charged with 2021 killing

The St Catherine police have arrested and charged 24-year-old Marqes Ellis, after investigations revealed he was involved in a fatal shooting in November of 2021. 

Ellis has been charged with murder, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition in relation to the killing of 58-year-old businessman Norman Dunkley. 

It is reported that on Tuesday, November 02, 2021, Ellis and two accomplices, all armed with handguns, pounced upon Dunkley as he drove his blue Toyota Surf motor truck along Trelawny Avenue in Riverton City, Kingston 11.

The gunmen opened fire, hitting Dunkley before escaping into the area. The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Ellis was taken into custody on Wednesday March 13 after a confrontation with lawmen in the Riverton City community.

His court date is being finalised.
