Two persons are dead, following a four-vehicle crash along the Dunn’s River main road in Ocho Rios, St Ann on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Christopher White, 55, and 42-year-old Kareen Browning.

An infant, 22-month-old Kalilia Houlbert, was injured in the incident. She was treated at the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital then transferred to the University Hospital of the West Indies.

The four vehicles involved in the accident are a grey Honda Fit (8761 JB) driven by Calvin Cooper of Lewis, St Ann; a Nissan Lafesta owned by Dennis Brown; a Nissan AD wagon driven by Robert Muir, a vendor of Beacon Hill, Thompson Pen, St Catherine; and a Range Rover driven by Ryan Small, 52, businessman of Greenwich Estate, St Ann.

According to the police, the first three vehicles were travelling in an easterly direction towards Ocho Rios.

On reaching a section of the road in the vicinity of Pearly Beach, the driver of a Range Rover, which was travelling in the opposite direction, failed to keep left and collided with all three vehicles.

Emergency personnel were called in to remove the victims from the crash. They were taken to the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital where White and Browning were pronounced dead.

The infant was a passenger in the Range Rover.

The Ocho Rios police are investigating.
