Man on bike without registration plates charged over gun seizure

A court date for him is being finalised.

The St Andrew Central police have arrested and charged a man who was held with a loaded gun while driving a motorcycle without registration plates.

He is 31-year-old Dwayne Blaine of Hopefield Village, Arnette Garden, St Andrew, who is charged with being in possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

The police report that about 3:18 p.m. on Monday, April 15, Blaine was driving a motorcycle without registration plates along a roadway when he was stopped by cops.

He was accosted and search and a Taurus nine millimetre pistol fitted with a magazine containing nine 9mm rounds of ammunition was taken from his waistband.

He was taken into custody and later charged.

A court date for him is being finalised.
