An argument over monies being sent to his babymother from overseas, allegedly by another man, has landed a Corporate Area man before the criminal court.

Romario Jones pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm on Tuesday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court. The court heard that there was an argument between Jones and the complainant, his child's mother, following allegations that she was collecting monies from a man living overseas. The argument led to a physical altercation and Jones punched the woman all over her body, causing bruising and swelling.

"Me never punch her, me box her. It was a mistake, Sir," Jones explained to the judge.

The matter was, however, adjourned until July 4 for sentencing. A subpoena was issued for the complainant's attendance.
