Westmoreland man charged for fatal stabbing of car wash operator

The Whitehouse police in Westmoreland on Tuesday charged a man for the fatal stabbing of a car wash operator during an altercation.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ris Wilson of Gordon district in Whitehouse and Park Mountain district in St Elizabeth has been charged with murder.

The incident happened in Rowe Town, Westmoreland on Saturday, July 13.

Dead is 27-year-old Simario Smith, otherwise called ‘Marco’ of Gordon District, also in the parish.

Reports from the Whitehouse police are that about 1:20 p.m., an argument developed between Smith and Wilson.

During the fracas, Wilson pulled a knife and stabbed Smith several times.

He was assisted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Smith was taken into custody after the incident and was charged on Tuesday, July 16 following his admission to committing the crime.

His court date is being arranged.
