Negril police arrest man following gun and ammunition seizure

The Negril police have arrested and charged a man following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in the town on Tuesday.

He is 36-year-old Jeff Morris of West End, Westmoreland.

Reports are that while conducting an operation on West End Road about 5:40 a.m., the police searched the accused and found a nine millimetre pistol affixed with a magazine containing 10 cartridges.

Morris is charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
