Azan Warehouse and Pure Ice Factory still ablaze

Firefighters are still trying to contain a massive blaze that has left millions of dollars worth of damage at a Azan Warehouse and Pure Ice Factory on Ashenine Road in Kingston today.

Senior Superintendent Patrick Gooden, Divisional Commander of the Kingston and St Andrew Division of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, said that the fire service responded to the call at 1:28 p.m. that the warehouse was on fire.

He said when the unit arrived, it was observed that the entire building was on fire and that the baze had spread to the nearby factory.

According to Gooden, seven units in total with 65 firefighters responded to the incident.

There have been no reports of loss of lives or injuries.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
