57-year-old murdered in lock up, 3 inmates charged

The police say that three inmates suspected of being behind the death of another detainee at the Buffy Bay lock-up, 57-year-old Patrick Perry, have been charged with murder.

Charged are: 22-year-old Malik Lewis and 28-year-old Nicardo Buckley both of White River District, Buff Bay, Portland and 19-year-old Xavier Harriott of Baker Street, Buff Bay, Portland.

Perry was in lock-up when an altercation reportedly occurred between him and the other inmates.

Perry was later found unresponsive and taken to the hospital. He was admitted in serious condition and succumbed to injuries on Sunday.

An investigation led to the men in custody being charged.

Their court date is being finalised.
