INDECOM probing two police fatal shootings in St Catherine
The Independent Commission of Investigations is looking into two incidents of police shootings that left two persons dead in St Catherine yesterday.
The deceased are Ricardo Fisher, 23, otherwise called 'Crocs', from Kingston, and Kemar Smith, otherwise called 'Zick' or 'Sizzler', from St Catherine.
It's reported that the first incident happened around 6:20 a.m., when a police team on Dallas Lane was allegedly challenged by Fisher.
The lawmen reportedly responded and Fisher was shot.
A Beretta pistol affixed with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition was allegedly seized from him.
He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died.
The other shooting took place at 8:00 a.m., when police were patrolling the New Nursery community.
Smith was allegedly armed and confronted them.
The police say they took evasive action and shot him.
A Smith and Wesson pistol affixed with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition was allegedly seized from him.
He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was declared dead.
