22-y-o inmate dies after allegedly falling ill while at Portmore lockup

A probe has been launched into the death of a 22-year-old inmate of the Portmore lockup in St Catherine on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Jerome Hayles, of 7 Rainford Road, Kingston.

Reports state that about 8:35 a.m., Hayles who was in custody on a charge of murder, complained of feeling ill.

He was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died.
