HIgh-powered rifles seized in Portland

The Portland police have seized two high-powered rifles with ammunition in Gurney district, Manchioneal, in the parish on Wednesday.

The Manchioneal police say that at 2:00 a.m., lawmen carried out an operation at a premises in search of wanted men.

During the search, the firearms containing 50 rounds of ammunition were seized.

A man was arrested and taken into custody.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
