A court today gave the green light to the police to keep popular content creator Jaii Frais in custody as they continue to probe Sunday's shooting incident at Big Wall.

This morning, police took Jaii Frais, whose real name is Jhaedee Richards, to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, where they made a detention application as part of efforts to continue questioning him.

The popular vlogger is being represented by attorney-at-law Isat Buchanan.

After hearing legal arguments, the application was granted by a judge.

Jaii Frais is to undergo further questioning by investigators today. No charge has been laid against him.

Under the law, the police have 48 hours to keep someone in custody without charge. The police can also go to court to seek an order from a judge to extend the detention.

Additionally, a person in custody, through a lawyer, can apply to the court for an order to compel the police to either charge them or release them from custody.
