Russia 2018, no problem - Bolt .

Despite some concerns over 2018 World Cup hosts Russia, Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt said he will have no issue travelling to the Eastern European country for the biggest sporting event on the planet in the summer.

Russia has had issues with terrorism, racism, and hooliganism, but Bolt insists that he would have no problem attending the World Cup showpiece in that country, as long as its government can assure participants and patrons' safety and a well organised tournament.

"Things are always going on in the world. I remember when we were going to London, there were always threats. But things are always going on in the world. It's just the confidence and belief that the government is able to make things work out and run smoothly," he stated.

Bolt, a big Argentina supporter, is hoping the South Americans make it to the final.

"I'm an Argentina fan. I am really big on that. I hope I get a chance to go down there (Russia) and watch a few games, and if Argentina make the final, then I can go and see that," he said.

The many-time Olympic gold medallist, who has spoken about his ambition to play professional football, particularly for his favourite club, Manchester United, said that he was pleased with the comments the club's current manager, JosÈ Mourinho, made about him after a small side game with some legends of the game recently.

"I didn't pressure him [to sign me] too much. I was very happy when he made the comments. I spoke to him after the game, and he said on the small pitch, I did pretty well, but he would like to see me play on a bigger pitch. I will try to get the (Dortmund training) footage to him now, and then I will start badgering him to get me in the side," he said.

Bolt is now looking forward to playing a charity game with more football legends and another track and - field icon, Mo Farah, in June.

"It is something I look forward to (playing at Old Trafford), and I am going to continue working and see where it goes from here. He (Mo Farah) will be able to run for a long time, but that's it," he joked. "But I've seen him actually play, and he's okay."
