Later this week, Jamaica's senior women's team will bow into action at the CONCACAF Women's Championship, as they seek a spot in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

However, The Reggae Girlz are not the only set of Jamaicans who are hoping that a good showing at the CONCACAF Championship, which will be staged in the United States, will earn them a spot in the flagship event.

Jamaica's FIFA Referees, Stephanie Yee Sing and Princess Brown will be officiating at the CONCACAF Women's Championship and a good showing could cement their spot in France as they have already been short listed for the World Cup.

"The persons who have been selected (to officiate at the CONCACAF Championship) are also short listed for the World Cup. It is a preparation phase for the World Cup and our performance there will be taken into consideration when they are selecting people for the World Cup," Yee Sing told STAR Sports recently.

Yee Sing and Brown participated in the FIFA Women's Under 17 World Cup in Jordan in 2016 and are also scheduled to take part in the 2018 version of the event in Uruguay in November.

"We are also hoping to use the qualifiers to sharpen up for the Under 17 World Cup because our performance there will also be taken into consideration when they are selecting for the World Cup," Yee Sing said.

The 29-year-old said she is hoping herself and Brown along with the Reggae Girlz could book their spots to France, because it would speak volume to the growth of Jamaica's football.

"To be at an event like that and to be able to hear the national anthem play would be a great feeling," said Yee Sing. "And it would show how far we have come as a nation in football because we are having more representations in the game."
