Congrats! Veronica Campbell Brown is pregnant

Veronica Campbell-Brown has announced that she is expecting a baby.

Campbell Brown, 36,  an eight-time Olympic medallist, made the announcement on her Instagram page this morning, in a post with a photo of her and husband Omar Brown on a beach.

"We look forward to parenthood and all the joys and challenges that come with it. We pray for strength and wisdom to be the best parents possible,” she wrote.

"Our lives will soon change forever.”

The two time 200m Olympic Gold medallist, has been out of competition since 2017.

Campbell- Brown is the latest high-profile Jamaican athlete to take a break from track & field to have a child.

"At this moment, I am uncertain if I will return to competition, as the main focus is to welcome our baby, and to provide the best environment filled with love, warmth, and care," the sprinter said.

Fellow sprinters Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce and Sherone Simpson are mothers. 

Fraser-Pryce gave birth of her son, Zyon Pryce, in August 2017 while Simpson had a girl baby in 2016.

American sprinter Allyson Felix had a baby on November 28, last year.
