Eurado Cornwall, chairman of Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) outfit Molynes United, said that he wants head coach Lijyasu Simms fired from his post as soon as possible.

Molynes United, who began the RSPL with six straight wins, have now suffered six defeats in the last eight matches in the competition. Their latest came yesterday when they went down 1-0 at home to Harbour View at the Constant Spring field.

Cornwall told STAR Sports that he was very dissatisfied with the team's recent results under Simms, so he will be pushing the club's executive body to make a coaching change as soon as possible.

"If it left to me alone, there would be a change of coach," he said after the game.

"Molynes Football Club runs under an executive body, so the decision is not made by one person, it is a collective effort.

"There should be a change of coach from my standpoint, and the decision should have been made from last week Sunday."

He added that the club's hierarchy has pumped copious resources into the team, and therefore it should be producing much better results on the field.

"I am very disappointed with the results and things cannot go on like this," he said. "It is better we lose with another coach at this point because we can't lose with the same coach. I would prefer to have a coaching change right now.

"That is the truth and I am saying this without malice, but the executive would have to meet to make this decision," he said.

Yesterday's RSPL results:

Dunbeholden 1-1 Humble Lion

Molynes 0-1 Harbour View

Cavalier 6-1 Vere

Waterhouse 4-1 Portmore

Today's fixtures:

Mount Pleasant vs Tivoli - Drax Hall at 3 p.m.

UWI vs Arnett - UWI Mona Bowl at 3 p.m.
