Montego Bay United (MBU) striker Dino Williams says he rejected a move to join Red Stripe Premier League outfit Waterhouse this season because of his love for his hometown side.

"I was talking with Waterhouse, because apart from Montego Bay, Waterhouse is my favourite club," Williams told STAR Sports. "And if it is not Montego Bay, then it would be Waterhouse that I would be playing," Williams said.

"I didn't feel the vibes to leave Montego Bay, so I decided to stay and help them to get back into the Premier League next season."

In four games played so far in the Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation/ Charley's JB Rum Super League, MBU have recorded two wins, one draw and a defeat.

Williams, who has been hampered by a groin injury over the past three seasons, has failed to hit the target in all four games so far. However, he said that he is now fit and looking forward to a productive season.

Hard to leave

"Sometimes, you can't run away from something that you love because I am sure if I had left the club, then some of the other senior players would have left too. Then we wouldn't have a chance to get back to the Premier League next season," he said.

I think we have a good chance of making it back into the Premier League and I think once we play our cards right, then I know that we can get there.

"You know that they have Falmouth, Reno and Wadadah, but we just have to go out there and work hard every day and see if we can get the job done.

"I am over the injury, so I am just trying to get as fit as possible. I am not going to get too over confident, but I am just hoping to hit top form at the right time and score some goals for my team."
