The Connie Francis-coached Sunshine Girls, on a high after a 59-54 win over South Africa on Sunday, face a big test today when they square off against world champions New Zealand.

Match time is 12:30pm. Today's clash is a top-of-the-table encounter between the two countries and victory for either team will guarantee them a spot in next Sunday's final. New Zealand easily beat hosts England 64-48 in their opening match.

The game is expected to be very close. Jamaica's head coach Connie Francis said her players are very confident and looking forward to today's match.

"We just want to come out very aggressive and trust each other," she said.

The veteran coach added that the Sunshine Girls will have to ensure that they maintain their discipline throughout all four quarters in order to be victorious.

"We have to take care of each position and work hard because we know that our shooters are a force and our opponents are also aware of that. We need to take better care of our centre passes while trying to feed the ball to the shooters and if we do that and force some turnovers from New Zealand then we should be fine," she said.

The Sunshine Girls will once again led by captain and goalshooter Jhaniele Folwer along with goal attack Shanice Beckford, centre Nicole Dixon and defender Shamera Sterling.
