Spartak Moscow and Reggae Boyz forward Shamar Nicholson and Reggae Girlz central defender Allyson Swaby were named the Jamaica Football Federation's (JFF) male and female top footballers for last year.

The JFF made the disclosure in the general secretary's report by Dennis Chung, which was prepared for the entity's congress on December 20.

'Boza', as Nicholson is commonly called, was Jamaica's joint leading scorer with Michail Antonio on two goals during the Reggae Boyz's failed World Cup qualifying campaign.

In the Russian Cup, the 25-year-old netted three goals in four games to help Spartak Moscow lift the title. He also scored five goals in 12 appearances in the league.

Swaby, the former Roma FC defender, who now plies her trade for Angel City in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States of America, was integral to the Reggae Girlz's qualification for a second successive women's World Cup.

The 26-year-old netted a 90th-minute winner, her first international goal, in the Girlz's 1-0 win over Paraguay in the first of a two-match series recently.
