Rousseau on a roll in JPL

Portmore United's dynamic left back Emelio Rousseau has improved by leaps and bounds this season.
The technically gifted former St George's College player, known for his outstanding free kicks and long-range shooting ability, has produced his best goalscoring return since joining the St Catherine-based club in 2018.
Rousseau has already netted four goals for the former champions this season, all exceptional strikes coming in the latter stage of the first round.
He opened his account this season after seven games, in a 3-1 win over Faulkland. He then followed that up with a goal from the penalty spot in a 1-0 win over Harbour View in their next game.
Portmore's unbeaten run came to an end after nine games but Rousseau consolation strike in a 2-1 defeat by Cavalier was one of the highlights of the match.
Against Waterhouse he forced a couple of top drawer saves out of national goalkeeper Kemar Foster and even hit the post from a free kick, before setting up Jevick McFarlane with a precise ball from a free kick to earn a point.
Then on Sunday, with his team down 1-0 at the break, the Portmore ace was a constant threat.
He headed a great opportunity just over the bar in the first half, and had two great strikes in the second half before finally getting it right with a scorching low drive to level the match after 57 minutes.
The 23-year-old admits he is pleased with the season he has had so far but has his sights set on getting even better.
"So far I am having a good season but I am looking to make it an even better season. It all starts from the training ground by putting in the work and coming out on the pitch and executing it in the games," he said.
Like most other local players, Rousseau has dreams of playing overseas and with the national team, and as one the leading dead ball specialists and long range shooters, probably only bettered statistically by Humble Lion's Andrew Vanzie, the attacking full back is just hoping he can make an impression on those who can give him his opportunity, internationally or professionally, to show his capabilities.
"I just want to catch some eyes," he stated.
Although pleased with his goal in Monday's 1-1 draw with Molynes United, Rousseau was disappointed they did not take all three points.
"I have that shot from school days. It is just to get into position to pull off the shot," he said.
"The team played well and we should have come away with the three points. We got the opportunity to score at least three goals and get three points but we did not take full advantage and it's an opportunity missed," Rousseau.
