National junior sprinter Alana Reid is set to leap to the professional level after signing with Auctus Global Sports Management Group.

The announcement was made via Auctus' Instagram page yesterday, as Reid, in this season so far, has been highlighted by breaking the sub-11 seconds barrier, which she did at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships in March.

She will be joining the management group that boasts World Championships and Olympic Games 400 metres hurdles champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of the United States of America, fellow American World Championships 200 metres silver medallist Kenny Bednarek and Reid's compatriot, World Championship 4x400 metres silver medallist Akeem Bloomfield.

Reid, earlier in the year, committed to attend the University of Oregon but is poised to forgo that to make the jump to the pro level.

Reportedly, Corey Bennett is set to continue as Reid's coach in addition to his duties as head coach of Hydel and Calabar track and field programmes.

"We proudly welcome our newest addition to the AMP global sports family. Get ready to witness her unstoppable determination as she takes on new heights with us," the Instagram post stated.

Reid last competed at the Los Angeles Grand Prix on May 27th, finishing third in her heat in 11.12, a heat that included American Sha'Carri Richardson. She also finished third in the final in 11.08.
